I will note, too, however, that my brother in law this week did some chiropractic work on my back and it was weirdly helpful. Like, no cracking, but just taping certain areas of my body. So strange but gives me hope that my pain can be radically reduced.

ouch! i know how much fun back pain is and can appreciate your situation. Dorsi is conservative with his surgeries and honestly I wasn’t sure after my first meeting with him. However, we met a second time after a new MRI and I felt more comfortable and confident he was the right way to go. If there’s a way for you to get out of pain without surgery he’ll likely pursue that route. When I went I had exhausted all my non-sugary options over about a 5 year period—it was time. Be sure to come up with questions ahead of time and bring them with you (always hard ‘off the top of your head’ in a moment like that). If you do see him, say hi from me. He would remember me as a soccer coach—his daughters play club soccer so we had that connection.
